What is Osteopathy?
Osteopathy is a hands-on manual therapy which promotes a ‘whole body’ approach to healthcare. It uses joint manipulation, stretching, massage, muscle energy techniques, balanced ligamentous tension techniques among others to achieve its goals.
Osteopathy aims to improve joint mobility, relieve muscle tension, increase blood flow and drainage to encourage healing, reduce pain and restriction within the body.
What conditions do Osteopaths treat?
As osteopaths we specialize in treating a wide range of conditions, including back pain, neck pain, joint pain, headaches, sports injuries and so much more. Osteopathic techniques can help our patients find relief and improve their symptoms.
What happens in an initial consultation?
Coming to an osteopath for the first time can be a daunting experience for some people. An initial consultation need not be intimidating if you understand what happens within that consultation.
